Silver medalist, Brett Camerota, with the first ever US medal in the Nordic Combined team relay will be at the Utah Olympic Park, www.olyparks.com, in Park City, Utah on Friday, March 12 from 1:30 pm until 3:30 pm.
Friday is the last day of the season for the “Utah Olympic Park Heber Afterschool Program” and the Park City School District “Get Out and Play” afterschool program which is coordinated with the Youth WinterSports Alliance, http://www.ywsa.org. These programs reach out to students in the Heber and Park City elementary schools giving children the opportunity to experience and develop sport skills in freestyle and freeride skiing, and Nordic ski jumping.
While growing up in Park City, Brett was no stranger to these programs in the community and the Utah Olympic Park. He and his twin brother, Eric, took up Nordic jumping at the age of six and became involved in the National Sports Foundation, Park City Nordic Ski Club, http://www.nsfparkcity.org .
During the last afterschool session on Friday, Brett will have the opportunity to give back to his hometown community while the children actively participating will have a chance to connect with one of their heroes, get an autograph, have a photo taken and drink hot chocolate.
